After graduation I went on active duty in the Navy for two years. I was attached to a bomber squadron with our home base in Jacksonville, Florida. The squadron was assigned to the U.S. Forrestal Carrier Group in 1957 and was deployed to the North Alantic for three months. In 1959 we were assigned to the U.S. Independence for three months in the Carribean. I was discharged in 1959 and worked in road construction, pipeline construction and on the farm for my Dad. I went to transportation school in 1961 and started working in the trucking industry which lasted for 41 years. I worked as a Rate Clerk, Dock Foreman, City & Road Dispatcher, Office Manager and Terminal Manager. In those 41 years I lived in Roseville and Arden Hills, MN and for the last 23 years in Center City, MN. I enjoy fishing, hunting, traveling and in 1981 my friend for life Pam and I went to Europe for two weeks. In 1983 Pam and I bought a house in Center City, which is where still live. I retired in 2003 and became a "snow bird" spending three months each winter in the South Texas "Padre Islands." |
