After graduation, I went on active duty in the Navy and was discharged from Maguire AFB in N.J. I stayed in N.J. and married .... I met Mr. Leon Hess, CEO of Hess (NYSE- HES) and one week later joined his company. Over the next nine years I was transferred to N.Y., Pa., Md. and back to N.J. in 1970. Promotions came with each of these moves.

Dec. 1970 tragedy struck as my wife was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in July of 71.

In 1976 I was promoted to Vice President, Gasoline Station Operations. Stations by that time, were operating from the Canadian border to Florida. I remained with Hess until 1982 when I left to form my own company. I sold my company in 1996 and worked as a consultant until retirement in Dec. 2002.

Owning my own company gave me the opportunity to get involved in charity work. I chaired, co chaired and served on numerous committees to raise money for Boys and Girls Club, Sunshine Foundation, Colleges, Hospitals and individuals in need. I also served on the Board of Directors for the Boys and Girls Club and president of the American Business Club of Trenton, N.J.

Married a wonderful lady in 1989 who shares my interests. We picked N.C. to retire in a golf & beach community. Today we spend our time golfing, kayaking, fishing, walking the beach and traveling. Just think, no snow, down side, hurricanes. Our travels have taken us to Canada, Alaska, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zaire, Hawaii, Ireland and most of the U.S.
